Hepworth Farms was founded in 1818 — which means this family has been working the same New York land for over two centuries. Seven generations of farmers, each one inheriting a commitment to the earth and passing it forward. Since 1982, the farm has been woman-owned and operated by the Hepworth sisters, who have guided it through every shift in agriculture while keeping that foundational commitment intact.
Cannabis is the latest chapter in a very long story. And like everything else Hepworth has grown, it’s done with the same care that’s defined the farm since before New York was even a state.
Sungrown in Living Soil
Hepworth’s cannabis is grown outdoors under the sun on a 500-acre organically certified farm — the same land where they’ve been growing fruit and vegetables for generations. They use living soil and the principles of regenerative agriculture, which means they’re not just growing cannabis, they’re actively improving the land they grow it on. The result is a terpene-rich, holistically grown product that reflects two centuries of agricultural expertise.
This isn’t a grow operation that started with cannabis. It’s a farm that has always known how to grow things exceptionally well, now applying that knowledge to a new crop.
A Legacy of Organic Excellence
Before THC cannabis, Hepworth spent years perfecting CBD cultivation — growing over 300 acres of CBD sensimilla since 2019 and processing it onsite into certified products. When they made the move to adult-use THC cannabis in 2022, they brought that same infrastructure, scientific oversight, and organic philosophy with them. The transition was seamless because the foundation was already there.
